Palmerston park is the main park in Rathgar its west side is mainly comprised of flower beds and a pond area. The east side of the park has a large open grass area with trees around the perimeter. There is a large playground that has been recently renovated and includes swings, slides and opstical courses.
Belgrave square is not what you would call a forest in fact it is fairly tiny but it does have a playground and benches.
Bushy park is a 2.6 kilometre walk from Rathgar village
Malay park is a 7.9 kilometre journey from Rathgar village.
St Stephens Green is 2.9 kilometres from Rathgar village
